Our main ingredient is Shea Butter, an emollient made from the nuts of a shea tree. This super-rich fat helps smooth and soften your dry skin. It also has several chemical compounds present that help reduce inflammation and promote the growth of healthy tissue.

We add Coconut Oil to the mixture to compound those healing properties and give your skin the nutrition it needs! Coconut Oil contains antimicrobial lipids that help eliminate microorganisms. It also has antifungal and antiviral properties and speeds up the renewal process of damaged tissues. Spirulina Platensis Powder gives this butter its ocean-blue hue. Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae that is high in carotene, vitamin b complex, and ascorbic acid. With high antiviral and antioxidant properties, it can help control inflammation and heal wounds.

To create our peaceful and aromatic grounding, we’ve added Lemongrass and Lavender.

Indicated by its name, Lemongrass is derived from a tropical grassy plant and is shown to relieve stress as well as depression and anxiety.

Lavender is a flowering plant most known for its fresh, sweet scent and relaxing qualities. It has a tranquil aroma that is remarkably soothing and is often used for insomnia or to minimize symptoms of anxiety and stress. Organic Vegetable Glycerin helps to retain moisture and pull oxygen into the skin.

A plant-based emulsifying W=wax, derived from olives, is added to help reduce water loss in your skin and provide high levels of moisturization. This wax also helps to keep the formulation together along with Benzylalcohol-DHA; a natural preservative that prevents bacteria, mold, and fungal growth!

Aqua + Shea Nut (Vitellaria paradoxa) butter + Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil + Cymbopogon flexuosus (lemongrass) oil + Lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil + Cetearyl Olivate (and) Sorbitan Olivate +Stearic Acid + Glycerin + Arthrospira platensis + Dehydroacetic Acid (and) Benzyl Alcohol

Apply the body butter to clean skin. Gently massage and apply to all areas of the body. Body butters are great when used right after a shower. Apply as many times as needed throughout the day. 

Before using topically, perform a small patch test on your inner forearm or back by applying a small quantity of diluted essential oil and apply a bandage. Wash the area if you experience any irritation. If no irritation occurs after 48 hours it is safe to use on your skin.Apply the body butter to clean skin. Simply insert it into the fridge for a few and it will stabilize. These are handcrafted products, each batch may be slightly different in texture, color, and aroma. Our products are produced in house not in a warehouse.

We like to keep it simple here at Shea+Coconut and that includes our manufacturing process…or lack thereof. Big warehouse production facilities aren’t really our style so, we keep our production in the hands of our employees who care wholeheartedly about each and every product we create. You can rest assured that the product you receive has been crafted with love from start to finish.
