What is

ADOS Owned

You may have heard of the term black owned business, but have you heard of an ADOS owned business? American Descendants of Slavery is a term referring to descendants of slaved Africans in the area that would become the United States. Unfortunately, they have become an almost invisible minority inside of a minority, and deserve equal and special protections under our current laws and policies.

A Debt Unpaid

A great debt is owed to the millions of black people that went to war for every side of this country and built the wealth of this country. If all we can do is make the acknowledgment, then we should. MLK Speaks.

Shea + Coconut, skincare, is proudly owned by a direct descendant of chattel slavery in this country, thanks goes to those ancestors who we name Jack, Sylvia, Susan, Sam, Ritta, Henry, Peltire, and Carrie.

As in the words of my ancestors, “If you are going to tell the truth, tell it all”

Meet Our ADOS Founder

Hailing from Nashville, TN, Stephanie is a fierce human rights advocate, entrepreneur, and holistic expert. A graduate of Regent University in Virginia Beach, she is now the owner of Shea + Coconut, an all-natural skincare business that is set out to make her customers feel good, while treating their bodies well at the same time! As a formulator and lover-of-life, Stephanie is always working to find new ways to help people through her many ventures, including her product lines that very much shaped her own personal narrative.

Stephanie was introduced into the world of natural skincare in 2016 when she was diagnosed with a uterine fibroid. After doctors had told her there was nothing they could do, she started doing her own research; finding a connection between the growth of her type of tumor, and a hormone imbalance. After changing her diet and making her own beauty products, a year later her tumor had shrunk, her anemia was gone, and all of her other bloodwork was normal. Stephanie now uses her story, alongside selling her product line, to show people that what you put in and on your body, has a large effect on how your body feels!

Stephanie loves the outdoors and hiking. Her favorite foods are anything that is grown in the garden. Those closest to her describe her as inspiring, dedicated, and loyal. When she has free time, you can find her advocating for human rights, a passion since her teen years, or working more on Shea + Coconut. Consistently motivated by her customers, their stories of healing continue to inspire her and push her to formulate a vast product line for everyone’s developing needs. Stephanie’s life-long goal is to educate others on the power of the natural world and to continue to develop products that will help shape their perspective on natural health and beauty.

Our logo

Our logo represents Stephanie's journey to holistic healing. The symbol is from Matt. 6:26, “the believer looks at the birds in the sky, that do not reap nor gather into the barns, and trust that the Father will provide.” We want everyone to know the power in our planet, to heal and to restore. All we have to do is have a little faith.
